APARTMENTS IN AUCKLAND FAQS

Strictly no parties, penalties apply. All apartments are for quiet residential use only.


1. How to book

From the table on the apartments page, click on the name of the apartment of your choice. This will take you to the apartment page where you can view all of the information for that apartment.

After checking that the apartment's description, photos and availability meet your needs, use the Availability Table and Booking Form near the bottom of the same page to start your booking. We cannot transfer bookings or deposits to other dates or apartments so please choose carefully.


The Online Booking Process has four simple steps:

Stage 1.  Select The Dates For Your Booking:

  • In the Availability Table, click on the date for the first night of your booking, to fill the 'First night' field in the Booking Form.
  • In the Availability Table, click on the date for the final night of your booking, to fill the 'Final night' field in the Booking Form.
  • If you have been given a special booking code, enter it in the 'Code' form field.
  • Finally click the 'Start Booking' button.
  • (Note: the 'clear' links next to each date field are a quick way to empty the fields if you need to change the dates you've selected).

Stage 2.  Guest Details:

  • Fill in the form with your contact details, guest numbers and approximate arrival time, then click the 'Continue Booking' button.

Stage 3.  Payment:

  • Your deposit is automatically calculated for you, as either a one week deposit for longer stays, or the full price of your stay if it is for 7 nights or less.
  • Enter your credit card details into the payment form, then click the 'Confirm Booking' button.
  • Please click the 'Confirm Booking' button ONCE ONLY, then be patient. It may take up to one minute to process your payment.

Stage 4.  Confirmation:

  • You will receive an online confirmation of your booking, followed by a confirmation email. Both confirmations contain your unique Apartments in Auckland booking number.
  • Your email also acts as your invoice and receipt. Please print it and keep it in a safe place for your records. You may also wish to bring a printed copy with you to facilitate your check in.

2. Rates, availability, reservations and deposits

How do I calculate the cost of a short stay?

To calculate the cost of any short stay, you must enter the actual dates that you require.

For stays of 1 to 6 nights the average nightly cost decreases - one night being the highest, and six nights the lowest average nightly cost.

 

Are the rates on the internet the best available?

Yes, for stays of 1 night to 12 weeks.

You cannot book these apartments anywhere else. Some buildings where we manage apartments also have hotel operators; these include Metropolis, Quay west, Heritage and One Hobson. We are not associated with these hotel companies and we exclusively manage all the apartments in our exclusive portfolio.


Can I use the facilities in the building?

Yes your security key will give you access to the facilities such as swimming, gym and whatever else your building has to offer. Note. For instance Metropolis has a  private residents lobby that is very handy and many of the buildings, generally those with a hotel operator, offer room service.


What does the rate include?

For your peace of mind and for something else we can be really proud of we have an all inclusive pricing policy which includes a very well equipped, fully furnished apartment but also our great meet and greet service when you arrive, internet access, local calls, weekly servicing and even local sales tax, GST. So all you need to do is stock the fridge and unpack your toothbrush.

How long would I have to stay to get a further discount?

Over 12 weeks


 Are the availability calendars accurate and up to date?

Yes, when you book online the dates booked will immediately become 'unavailable'


How much deposit do I have to pay?

1 week or the full amount if you are staying less than a week. Please note deposits are non refundable within 30 days of arrival and prior to that subject to a $75 cancellation fee only.

You can start the booking process to see the deposit required and the full amount of your intended stay.


Are the photographs of the actual apartments?

Yes, we take them ourselves and If we include a photo of the view you will  generally see a bit of the balcony rail in shot thats to show you that we have not played any telephoto tricks. We present our rates, photographs and descriptions in an honest and up front manner. You can click on any photograph or floor plan  to enlarge it, they are under 70kb in file size and as a result some are pixelated when enlarged. Floor plans are not to scale but do give a good idea of layout and furniture..


Can I block some dates and get back to you with a confirmation?

No, we require 1 weeks deposit or the full amount if the stay is less than 7 nights


How will I get the keys?

We will meet you at the apartment building you are staying in and brief you on your residence.


How can I pay for my stay?

On the day of check in we will charge your credit card for the balance of the stay. If you are staying with us for quite a while we will charge your credit card every 2 weeks.


What happens if I have to cancel?

Within 30 days of arrival you lose your deposit and outside that it's a $75 cancellation fee. We cannot transfer bookings or deposits to other dates or apartments, please choose carefully.

 

What happens if I have to cut short my stay after check in?

After check in we only require 14 nights notice should you need cut short your stay.


How far in advance can we book?

Online booking is available for the following 6 months.

The apartment we want does not have a car park?

You can save quite a bit if you choose an apartment without a car park and all the apartments are within a short walking distance of a parking building. The car parks, were included,  are generally on lower floors and have direct access to the elevator making the movement of people, luggage and groceries that much easier. But if you don't have a car why pay for a car park. Unfortunatley car parks cannot be transferred to other apartments.

How do I know you are not an internet scam?

When I asked our web designers how to convince visitors that we, and more importantly our apartments, actually exist, the advice included putting pictures of ourselves and our office on the web site, pictures of apartment owners, physical address details, telephone numbers and  links to official sites.

We also have major listings at reputable websites such as www.yellowpages.co.nz and Aucklands official web site http://www.aucklandnz.com . We use secure pages for online payments and would not share your information with any third party.

When you are on our secure pages there are several security features including our security certificate and the link to DPS who serve all the major tourism leaders in NZ including Air New Zealand and provide the encryted and secuity payment features. You should also note the 's' following http in the address this also indicates that you are on secure pages.

3. The apartments, fit outs, cots and highchairs

Are the apartments fully furnished?

Every apartment has our full comprehensive fit out right down to the linen and towels. It includes laundry and a well equipped kitchen for cooking, crockery, cutlery, glassware. All you need to do is stock the fridge and unpack your bag.

As well as our arrival briefing you will be given local map and key information on the building you are staying security, safety, facilities and car parking.

Many of the apartments have additional features over and above our comprehensive fit out standard. These features are described on each apartment page.

Cots and high chairs are available.

Are you able to change the beds to suit our group?

The bedding configuration is accurately described on each individual apartment page and is generally not flexible from that described. The description will also include the availability, if any, of fold out beds in the apartment. In many of our 2 bedroom apartments we have king beds that unzip into 2 singles and again these are described on each page.

The floor plan also shows the bedding configuration.

4. Broadband Internet

Nearly all our apartments have internet access included in the price.  It is just some apartments in Metropolis that do not have internet access available. Those apartments are clearly identified on the apartments web page as not having internet available.

5. Meet and greet, arrival times

How do we get the keys to the apartment?

Our 'meet and greet'  is one of our most  important services.

On your day of arrival it is our priority to meet you on time at your apartment with a polite, friendly briefing on your apartment and if required the local environment. Actually we like to be at your apartment about 40 minutes before your scheduled arrival time. We conduct our final checks including lighting, appliances, telephone line and written information about the apartment, building and local area.

We meet and greet at any prearranged time, It is a 24 hour service to accommodate even those flights that arrive at unpleasant times of day.

Your email confirmation will contain specific details about meeting us and we recommend you print a copy and include it with your travel documents.

All apartments are for quiet residential use only. Charges and penalties ($250 minimum) will be made for security call outs, excess cleaning, investigating complaints.

What if our flight or travel is delayed?

It would not be the great adventure that it is, without delays. Up until your arrival day you can amend your estimated time of arrival at the following page;

Can I check in earlier than 2 PM?

We recommend you book from the previous night if you want access to your apartment before 2pm. We have a guaranteed early check in option for only $75 but it is very much subject to availability. We strongly recommend this option particularly if you have travelled as a family on a long haul flight. It is unlikely we will check in you in before 2pm unless you have booked from the previous night or taken up our $75 check in option were available. Sorry but we do not have baggage storage facilities

How do we calculate our arrival time from the airport?

Allow 2 hours from your flight landing time to any of our apartments unless your flight arrives before 7am or after 7pm or on a Saturday or Sunday allow 90 minutes. Your email confirmation will contain detailed instructions.
